That's why you don't sign players to 10-year deals, especially when they're 32. I don't think the league should allow any contracts to exceed 7 years, actually.
Anyway, my comment was only applicable if he has a severe decline in production midway through the deal. If he's still busting 25 HR and 75 RBI when he's 40 then this will probably end up as a fair deal. Regardless, a player his age demanding 10 years guaranteed at a blockbuster per season rate has a little bit of greed attached to it.
