Which brands or boxes offer the most valuable chances?

RE: Which brands or boxes offer the most valuable chances?
I got a 1000 point club card Brian Propp with game jersey piece in the card. Say its rare with 1:864 . I look it up and its worth lik $10. Honestly it seems like hockey cards are not worth anything unless its some signed rookie card from an allstar rookie. Other than that they are worthless. Baseball seems much more valuable. I could be wrong. I am just a little salty right now and ill get over it since i feel like i wasted $200

But the joy of opening the box was well worth the $200, right? The fun of sorting, sleeving, etc., after you opened it?

There's more to the hobby than just pulling a high dollar card.

Perhaps you'd like to eliminate the middle man and move on to slot machines or something?

There's not a person on the boards who hasn't felt "hosed" at some point or another.

For all my brilliant pulls (especially on the retail side), you think there aren't a dozen crappy breaks that I don't post for every good one that I do?

Card companies are like casinos. If everyone pulled a $500 card out of every pack they opened, the card companies would go out of business.

Like I said on one of your other posts, why don't you subscribe to Beckett and do some research about box/case prices versus potential return?

Are you hoping to turn around and sell every card on the secondary market? Build a portfolio out of one box? What's your goal, Davinci? Nothing's worthless. You just need to find the right buyer. That can take a lot of patience, but that is also part of the fun of this hobby/game we all play. Put everything in your org and see what happens. You might be surprised what people are looking for. I know I am from time to time. But I also know I surprise people with what and whom I collect.
I appreciate Chicago players that begin competing within the city's sports organizations and stay with these teams throughout their careers.

Maybe I should have prefaced all my earlier comments with an indication that I'm a collector, not an investor. If you're looking to maximize your return on investment, you should probably be looking to acquire assets other than sports cards.
Building sets, and collecting Alex Ovechkin, Calle Johansson,
Craig Laughlin and Braden Holtby
