Totally agree with RW34 here. I have an Epson v30 which is nearly identical to the v300 except there is no slide attachment. I used to use a Canon Pixma to do scanning and now with the Epson, my graded cards don't come out blurry anymore:

The Epson uses a CCD sensor whereas most others use a cheaper CIS sensor.
