In 1986 Sportflics became the 4th major baseball card manufacturer with a unique looking lenticular card. The cards were designed so that there were 3 different pictures you could see depending on the angle at which you held the card. Well a little know set that they also made in 1986 was a jumbo disc set. These discs were 4 1/2 inches in diameter. The pictures used were the exact same as used on the player's 1986 Sportflics card. The interesting thing about these discs is that they were only available via a mail-in offer. They were charging $4.99 per disc, which was an absurdly high amount for a baseball card product back in 1986, so I am not sure how many of these ended up getting redeemed. However they only made discs for a few big name, big market players. Rather than showing the disc itself, which can be tricky to get a good photo, I am going to highlight the mail-in card. It is worth mentioning that neither the discs nor the mail-in cards are listed in the Beckett database. Here is the mail-in card for the 1986 Sportflics Disc of Don Mattingly.
