Here are 2 more differant Greenwells i found.The one on the left i have 2 off and the one on the right i have 6 of.

Yesterday I spent 6 hours at a local shop digging through the .25 boxes and 3 3200s of 1991 UD.

Unfortunately I did not find any McGwire, Clark, Sax, Griffey, Ventura, Greenwell (or any other collected guy's) hologram variations.

I did find a couple players from that set in the 3 distinct types so I can scan as an examle. Also, 1988 Topps Glossy All-Stars come in * and ** versions which I'll update soon.

To: Onionring and any other 1988-1990 Topps stickers experts:

I just broke 5 boxes of 1990 stickers (240 little packs...) and noticed some unusual stuff:

-Several AL players including Canseco and McGwire seem to be found with light and dark blue names.

-The players with red names can be found in straight magenta-red and in magenta/yellow-red. These two different types come in the same pack sometimes.

-Craig Biggio is the only blue background (NL) player who has a blue name. Can anyone confirm a corrected RED name version?

-Some players are far less available than others. Here is a small sampling of quantities (in super-star cardbacks) I pulled:

----Cal Ripken x12 (121/262 x4, 168/223 x5, 162 x1, 90 x2)
----Nolan Ryan x28 (116/213 x7, 95/229 x2, 264 x7, 134 x11, 154 x1)
----Don Mattingly x30 (10/236 x10, 54/239 x5, 92 x9, 53/194 x2, 151 x4)
----Doc Gooden x23 (57 x10, 121/262 x10, 198 x3)
----Will Clark x14 (163 x3, 16/255 x5, 172/317 x6)
----Mark McGwire x28 (116/213 x12, 35 x7, 123 x6, 113/203 x2 156 x1)

I noticed that each of the above players that had no more than 3 foil-sticker backs in their count, often just 1 or 2 copies of the foil backed versions per player compared to the 6+ of the dual-player sticker backs.

Is there anything else I should be looking for? Are there even more combinations for some of these guys than I have listed? Am I right to think that some of these players/stickers were produced in smaller supply?

For what it's worth, my three Craig Biggio 1990 Topps Stickers have his name in blue.

I'd be interested to know if there is a red name version out there.

It looks like you summed this up pretty well. For the McGwires I don't know of any other than these 5 that you got. The foil stickers are much harder to come by in this set than in earlier years. With every year of these though, there are SPd versions like the foil of this year. I believe in '88 however it wasn't the foil cards that were the difficult combinations to get, but some of the base combinations believe it or not.

Out of curiosity, did you find any other variations of superstars on front of cards with mcgwire on back? These are the only ones I've found:

No 1990 O Pee Chee stickers. Looks like they aborted after '89. Let me know when you do this and I can give you my list to look for.

As for the 162 w/44. That was probably the best one in the set! McGwire/Ripken
