I don't know if their season will be over, but that's a pretty big loss for them. 1100 yards and 9 TDs off your roster will hurt any team. First game of the season will be the big test for them, since they are playing the Packers. If they find a way to win, I have a feeling they'll be ok without him, but if they struggle, it may be a long season for 9ers fans.

Green bays defense is more pourus than a sponge. I'd say week 2 is a much better test. If they didn't have Boldin, this would have been a disaster. They will still be okay. I have a feeling Jenkins or one of this years picks will step up.

Their defense isn't as bad as the NFC playoff game made them out to be. They had several guys out that would have made a difference (like Perry) and those guys will be back. I don't think they'll be a top 5 defense, but they were 11th overall in points allowed for the season last year, which is quite a bit better than it was in 2011 (31st or something like that). And, they'll have the chip on their shoulder factor for the playoff game as well. Not saying they'll be wonderful in the game, but if the 9ers don't do decently against them, it will definitely be a long season for them. If they do well against them, then, yeah, week 2 will be a better test.

I'm going to go out on a limb and say the 49ers bring back Brandon Lloyd. He can still put up 75 catches 1000 yards and 10 TDs and the 49ers would be a perfect fit for him.
