2012 Bowman Platinum 5 case break and contest thread [CONTESTS CLOSED]

RE: 2012 Bowman Platinum 5 case break and contest thread [CONTEST #2 OPEN]
Just drooling with envy! lol... and thats just from the Hager atomic refractor. Couldn't imagine getting everything else too. I'd be keeping just about everything lol... btw lol... Hard for Hager to get much press being that he's in low A but last I checked he seems to be doing quite well, batting near .300 w/ more rbi's than anyone on the big league club. Got high hopes for him. Could you please send me your link for ebay as well, I'd be interested in following your listings as well and possibly gettin some of your Rays hits if I'm lucky enough. Thanks and looking forward to the rest of your breaks!

Case #2 Summary

Grade: A+
Comments: It would have been a pretty great case with just the Hager atomic refractor, the Cespedes gold auto, and the Trout blue auto relic, but obviously the big hit was the gold Harper auto relic with the insane patch. Seven similar cards are currently up on eBay, and the one scheduled to end tomorrow is currently at $668. It will be really hard to beat that pull in the next three cases, but I’m up for the challenge! Incidentally, I’d grade this case an A+ even at current case prices. I have a poker tournament at 1PM. If I bust out early (most likely scenario) I’ll be able to start busting the third case in the early evening. If I get lucky I won’t be busting until Sunday. So get your contest entries submitted just in case.

RE: 2012 Bowman Platinum 5 case break and contest thread [CONTEST #2 OPEN]
CONTEST CLOSED -- NO FURTHER ENTRIES ACCEPTED. GOOD LUCK!
There were 40 entries to CONTEST #2, all valid and unique. Of the 36 possible boxes, only 21 were covered: 3/12 boxes in Case #3, and 9/12 boxes each in Cases #4 and #5. Case #4, Box #8 was the most popular, with five unique entries landing on that box. Three boxes each had three contestants guess it, nine boxes had pairs of contestants, and eight boxes had single contestants. Nobody picked the dramatic final box, which would have been my pick, as I have a clear memory of pulling an Adrian Peterson auto in the final pack of a large break of that terrible Bowman Chrome set. I think it was that miserable break that made me decide to get rid of all my football cards and focus on baseball.

Anyway, should be interesting -- good luck, everyone!
Case #3, Box #1

David Wright gold
Drew Pomeranz gold
Stephen Strasburg gold

Grade: B
Comments: The second contest is underway. The Tim Wheeler blue refractor is not likely to hold up as the lowest numbered card. But we don't have any contest entries until box #3 anyway.

Comments: Okay, a printing plate will make things interesting in the contest. Nobody picked this box, so we’ll need either another plate or a 1/1, or the contest will revert to the Tigers-Red Sox tiebreak.
