I was thinking about which baseball players rookie cards are the best bets not to go down and value and to even increase in value. There are basically 2 types of investments, the veterans and retired players that are safe investments and will stay stable or slowly crawl to a higher value, and the new players that have a chance of increasing quickly in value (of course if they get injured, they can quickly go down in value). That being said, if you had to make two top ten investment lists, what would they be? Here's mine:
Veterans:
1. Mariano Rivera
2. Derek Jeter
3. Barry Larkin
4. Craig Biggio
5. CC Sabathia
6. Miguel Cabrera
7. Mark Buehrle
8. David Ortiz
9. Alfonso Soriano
10. Chipper Jones
Young players:
1. Mike Trout
2. Giancarlo Stanton
3. Bryce Harper
4. Matt Moore
5. Madison Bumgardner
6. Clayton Kershaw
7. Yasiel Puig
8. Jean Segura
9. Manny Machado
10. Jedd Gyorko
I picked these players because they seem to have a solid fan base, they don't seem to have too many injury issues, and they stayed away from steroids. What are your picks?

while he is not as popular as before and being hurt as of late, you have to put Pujols on this list in my opinion.

Throw adrian beltre and ichiro in there too somewhere

5th or 4th forgot what number. I like the dude but hows he going to increase in value? Brett Lawrie should be on the list of youngsters. If that dude can stay healthy he can be up there with dare I say Machado? Probably not that high but the dude is good WHEN healthy.

WOW.... Pretty random list IMO i think you are about 50% right,

but no Griffey, Ripken? Just to name a few.... IMO as well 1989 upper deck RC is one of the most significant Rookies of all time.
