I really think I wanna call Shenanigans
I just opened 2 boxes of 2012 Elite. I pulled a fairly thick card, which is a patch from a George Blanda Raiders jersey. It is 3 COLOR - Silver patch, on top of Black patch, on white jersey.
Blanda last played in 1975, but this patch swatch looks IMMACULATE, as in right off the rack brand new. The material is shiny, and the stitching is as new looking and as tight as anything you've seen.
The back states "The enclosed game worn material is guaranteed by Panini America Inc."
This is the first time I've seriously questioned a piece, right out of the package. I mean, it looks like a photoshoot jersey...

Maybe it was washed! lol. Seriously though, does it actually say Blanda wore it in a game? Or could it have been anyone?

Most GU'd items are washed before ever being sold. Plus, Blanda was pretty much only kicker when he was a Raider.

Who knows ... not to defend card companies, but I would assume that they would realize that if they ever got caught once using a fake gamer, they would be finished.
And remember, "Shenanigans" is a very serious charge around here, not to be thrown around lightly.
