RC vs. (RC) ...what's the difference

Anybody want to explain this to me?
Thanks! Ryan
One is in parenthesis.
Actually I think they are both the same but if not somebody will set me straight. My Huge Wantlist: http://www.zeprock.com/WantList.html
I believe RC is a true rookie card (ie the player made their MLB debut that year) and (RC) is a rookie card of a player who has had earlier MLB experience, but no card issued in that year.
Actually, I think a player can have both an RC and and (RC). For example, if a player had 50 at bats last year (his true RC year), he would still qualify as a rookie this year and would have a (RC) card. I'm sure someone will tell me if I'm wrong.
Always looking for Verlander, Cabrera, Maybin, Mike Stanton (marlins), and Avisail Garcia. *TRYING TO COMPLETE MY VERLANDER ROOKIE COLLECTION. 44/47. ONLY 3 TO GO!*
See if the search function will allow you to bring up one of the many threads where I and others have answered this over the last two years if not I will try to get on here tomorrow and go into depth if someone else hasn't answered but for now it's late here on the Eastcoast so I gotta hit the hay

When referring to an (RC) you have to change your tone when you say (RC)
EXAMPLE: I have an Albert Pujols (RC) card vs. I have an Albert Pujols RC card Nah but I think one of those guys is right Collecting Reds and A's (especially Joey Votto, Bronson Arroyo, and Josh Reddick) (02-20-2012, 12:34 AM)bustin 5 knots Wrote: When referring to an (RC) you have to change your tone when you say (RC)Lol. So is it safe to say any Topps card with the RC logo is a true rookie and the ones with the trophies are not ?

I think the trophy indicates a player was a star rookie the previous season.
