ITG Passing the Torch

ITG Passing the Torch
Quick question.

Bought a card off eBay and as the title says it's ITG Passing the Torch from 2005. It's a GU Stick and Jersey card. It's my first GU stick card from ITG and it looks a little off.

I have stick cards from UD and the stick piece is usually inserted similar to the jersey...meaning the card covers the ends of the stick. On this card it looks like the piece of stick was just glued in the cut-out hole on the card. I can feel and visually see the edges of the stick. Is this normal for early ITG stuff or did I get screwed. The card looked fine in the pic on eBay, but it was a small scan.

I think I might send it back because I don't really like the way it looks, but just wanted some input from the experts first.

You didn't get screwed. I have see several ITG series cards like this with the stick glued on the card itself. My LCS has several of them for sale. So I would say it's real.

Thanks guys
Another question....did ITG not put the serial number on cards? the only card I can find says it has a print run of 100, but my card isn't stamped. I'm assuming it just wasn't stamped because even when I search all of Beckett for the card number that is the only result....PTT-22

I would guess it would look a lot like the ones above. No print run on the card but they were limited to 100 copies of each for the basic versions.

Not from the BTP sets actually but this PTT set was really cool. It was the only time I could buy a box and know I was going to get a Roy GU or AU or two...and if I didn't I was going to get "stuck" with Brodeur...

UD has done stuff like this. 01-02 (I think) MVP goalie sticks were quite raised up and sort of looked glued on.
It was kind of neat that they burned the team emblem onto the stick, though.

Scott, you would be correct it is similar to that. I just thought the quality was kind of bad in regards to the stick being glued on so I was a bit worried. I knew some cards weren't stamped so I wanted to double check before adding to my org. Thanks for clearing it up. Here is a pic of the card:
