1998 Playoff Contenders MVP Contenders Proof Set Brunell #1/1 - finally caved in to get this off ebay - was listed for a year +.

These are crazy hard to find. A little background for everyone here. Playoff made a master proof set of everything from 1998 and sold it at the Hawaii convention. Yes there is a Manning and Moss Contenders auto (I've seen them) stamped the same way. Dave and Adam's bought the entire lot and broke them up for resell. One of the coolest and rarest of sets to find. I was lucky enough to get a Cris Carter pennant (purple pennant) and Manning yellow pennant (Graded BGS 9.5 and traded last year) during their sell off in 1999. I remember cuz it was the first year I joined Ebay and seeing all of those listed at once was insane! These are mostly in PC's so they don't pop up that often. Congrats on getting this into an overwhelmingly amazing collection!

footbal - yes DACW bought the set for $29,500 and broke it up immediately. I wish I bought more back then. There were over 1200+ cards stamped as Proof Set (another 300 if the Gold Parallels were done as well, but I do not recall Golds being in the Proof Set as those cards had serial numbers on them). Also today I learned there was this insert set from 1998 Playoff Contenders Super Bowl Leather that I NEVER KNEW ABOUT (took 25 years for me to catch on...yes, I'm slow!   )
