That's tremendous - I'll be scouring the bay for all the great deals that "flippers" lose their a--es on, LOL

I kind of hate the fact that they are going to pull Gold Jacket Signatures which are HoF autos and some of the best cards in the Gold Standard set and complain because they can't "flip" them for a profit because people pay more money for wide receivers who haven't even played in an NFL game yet (or played in one NFL game) than most HoF wide receivers (and almost all HoF defensive players

Speaking of Panini and trolling collectors, they got Prestige Hobby H2 Boxes up for $150 - apparently now the Draft Day autos (on card, and probably the best cards in Prestige) are now only in that format - which for $150 doesn't appear to guarantee any autograph cards - what a deal!

Has anyone seen any evidence of the Prestige Mega Boxes existing this year, btw?

Edit: Also $450 for Optic H2 boxes - also no guaranteed autograph card but you get 4 exclusive parallels. What a wonderful deal that is!

Who is buying this stuff at these prices?

I think it's those "great new collectors" I keep hearing about.

They are Gem Fire Bros on the prowl for the next Banger.

I like how Panini changed their redemption policy after people bought up a bunch of 2020 boxes and kept them sealed - apparently they want to make sure that those boxes get broken so that people don't wind up with expired Joe Burrow redemptions

Meanwhile, Panini changed the terms and conditions of redemptions yet again - first the good news, you can no longer get your redemptions replaced by points (seriously, that is good news, the points are worthless) - but now the catch - now if the redemption sits unfulfilled for 6 months they will send a substitute trading card.  So pretty much you can now expect that almost every Panini redemption is going to wind up with a random card.

Although maybe they will finally send me something for that Cam Robinson Contenders Draft Picks Rookie Ticket redemption that has been pending since 2018 (the one I had to mail to Panini since the online code wouldn't enter)

I seriously wonder if there is a single card in 2022 Prestige that would actually sell for more than $150 - maybe the right 1 of 1, but even then, I can't see how you are not absolutely guaranteed to lose a huge amount of money at that price

But I guess the breakers don't care, the suckers will buy into the breaks - and then they can yell "LET'S EFFING GO, GEM FIRE, BRO, LET'S EFFING GO, BROS!" at Carson Strong "hits" - you know, the guy who was so bad the Eagles barely even let him on the field during preseason (they barely even let him practice, LOL!), but somehow still Panini thought was worth a slot at the Rookie Premiere.

10 boxes cost $1500 (retail) plus tax etc... they randomize teams and I'd say "average" $75/team.  That's $2400, an easy grand for being a DB.  This is why I feel Panini is doing what they are doing, because they want their piece of the pie.
Collecting: Ohio State Buckeyes, Cincinnati Bengals, Chicago Bears

Don't forget the money they get by monetizing their videos on social media as they get extra cash for "content creation" as people watch them yell "WHAT A BANGER, GEM FIRE BROS, LET'S GO!" in response to Carson Strong autographs.

Or they bring in local models to hire to open boxes while wearing bikinis to bring in the page views.  I'd say their girlfriends, but I'm pretty sure that guys like that don't have girlfriends.

I'd think that the rise of legal sportsbooks and casinos will get rid of a lot of this - people can get the same gambling thrill at the legal online sportsbooks with much better odds - although then they won't get those Banger practice squad player autographs
