Donating is a great idea and have done it many times to Goodwill etc. The biggest problem with children centers and hospitals for children is that the cards may not be of players the young ones are familiar with. Think of an 11 year old looking at a Fred McGriff card...
As far as germs go..donate magazines without issues..I guess they sterilize them??
I would rather donate to Goodwill etc and have them thrown away or taken by staff than throwing them away myself.
