Stopped by the LCS, walked out with a few goodies
I stopped by today to get my grandfathers passing off my mind, not looking to buy anything, but as usual, he had a few deals for me.
I picked up a 1993 SP set for $75, which, as we all know, centers around this card:
The card is pretty clean, wouldn't grade a 10, I'd say maybe 8-8.5.
And the other card is my first T206:
Thanks for looking everyone. I just needed to get out of the house, and try and clear my head, it worked for the moment.

I always dig your posts. There's always a great mix of old vs. new. Sweet pick ups.

Thank you. I've been a history buff, and other than my Gonzalez collection, I rarely buy newer stuff. I'd rather have a nice vintage card, or a sweet Gonzalez card than a card that is going to drop like a rock after a few months on the market.

Nice cards congrats
Thank you, I've been looking to get one, he just happened to pick one up. I didn't care about who it was, just cool to think that about 117 years ago, someone bought a pack of smokes, and this lasted that long. The stories it could tell.....

I actually didn't think of it that way! I couldn't pass it up. He had an unopened box of the 93 SP, someone bought it for $1000. If he hits a mint Jeter, he's set, or the best card could be Johnny Damon. Huge risk.

Nice pickups, definitely a classic set (1993 SP) and a timeless vintage card. That is a great way to spend $75 at a card shop.

Congrats on the T206! The Jeter is a nice pick-up also. Enjoy!
