That could very well be the case. I'm glad he decided to stay in Seattle. I don't pretend to understand the Saber metrics but I don't have a need or wanting to either. Over the years watching him he simply dominates the opposing team (most of the time) but gets no love from the general fan who's clouded over by kershaw, or grienke, or whoever came out of the blue to win 20 games this year.
