1984-85 STAR MJ
Well, I found it! The 1984-85 Star Michael Jordan #288 SPEC. I'm so happy with the BGS 8. Found it for the perfect price! This same exact card sold in November for $255 and I picked it up for $185. Just shows you how important timing is. Only a few graded 8.5 and ONE BGS 9. Now I just need the 1984-85 star Olympic MJ BGS 8.
Thanks for looking!

Great pick up!!!
I know you were after that for a while, congrats and good luck on the OLY. I think they were a little harsh on the corners. That is a sweet card. Great to see someone posting old MJs and not the newer stuff...

And maybe generous on the centering?
I appreciate Chicago players that begin competing within the city's sports organizations and stay with these teams throughout their careers.

Centering is always like that on the 288. Ditto for the XRC #101. Typically if you see a dead on centered copy that is a good sign its not the real deal. I have that card in a BGS 7 with 6.5 and its close but slightly worse than that one. I have been collecting the Star cards for a while now and the centering sub grade is all over the map. That one is actually better than most 288's though.

Thanks! I have been after the Star cards for some time but I'm always looking for deals, so it takes me forever to pull the trigger. I love the older stuff...More history.
Yeah, the corners look better in person but i'm happy with the grade.

Very true, The centering is all over the place. I think the 8 is about right, but I have seen some about the same get droped by .5.
