Jose Canseco is next on my list with 910 so it may be awhile before I hit 1000 with him. Rickey Henderson is at 897 and both Rafael Palmeiro and Barry Larkin are in the 800s. These are all unique cards (no dupes) that are listed in the ORG. I do not count the unlicensed cards of which I have very many (over 50 each of Mantle, Ryan and Griffey).
I collect Hall of Fame baseball player cards and cards of current and retired superstars.

I obtained my 1000th Rickey Henderson card this past week making him the 28th player of my 1000 card club. It's been four years since I last surpassed this number of cards with a player and I was at 28 players before but traded some Juan Gonzalez cards dropping him out of the club. In that time I got my 2000th Maddux card and I am very close to my 3000 Griffey Jr. card. One of my collecting goals this year was to add another member to my exclusive club. These numbers reflect only cards recognized by Beckett.

That's quite an accomplishment... I don't think I'm even close to 500 cards of any one single player! Probably around 400 Trout or so ... maybe 300 Jeter ... I don't have every card entered and that might include dupes ... wow, man! 28 players with 1K+ unique cards is monumental.

I guess if I saved used tinfoil and used tea bags instead of old comic books and old baseball cards, the difference between a crazed hoarder and a savvy collector is in that inherent value.

I don't have access to my Excel database right now, but I'll try to remember to check when I do have it. I'm pretty sure that I have more than 1,000 Bledsoe cards, but I think that is the only player I have more than 1k of.

RE: My 1000 Card Club
It's been more than a year since I last updated this post but thanks to a huge box of cards from Bonds20001 that contained two Jose Canseco cards, I now have a new member of my 1000 Card Club. I ended up one card short of reaching my goal to get that milestone in 2019 but with these two cards, I now have 1001 unique Beckett-recognized Canseco cards making him the 29th member of my 1000 Card Club. In that time I have surpassed 3000 Griffey Jr. cards and 2000 Jeter cards and six other players have moved up the list leapfrogging others. I have updated the numbers on my first post. The 30th member of my club is currently sitting at 25 cards away.

I'm almost embarrassed to say, it's Rafael Palmeiro. I thought he was headed to the Hall of Fame and collected him throughout his career. Same as most of the others on my list. Unfortunately I didn't know I was collecting throughout the PED era until it was later revealed and so many of the "sure fire Cooperstown bound" players took a sudden detour. I have Barry Larkin coming up behind him and then Miguel Cabrera also in the 900s so maybe one of them will pass Raffy.
