So there is this guy...i dont know him. Who bids on every 2010 Topps Chrome Refractor Patriots card that comes up on ebay. He bids HUGE on every card making it impossible to get any of the refractors i need. Here i am a collector who would be happy to get just one copy of the card and heres this other guy who thinks he needs every copy of the cards...especially the numbered ones. So heres my question. Is it wrong of me to bid him up on every chrome auction i find....in hopes that maybe he will spend too much and let me get one sooner or later. Guy spent $120 on a gold refractor /50 and $150 on a auto black refractor /25....the only reason they sold that high was because of me. The gold would have sold for about $90 and the black for around $100 or lower cause noone was bidding. Anyways is it wrong of me?

I only think it is unethical if you are the seller and are bidding things up. Just had someone do that....bidded up past my high, then retracted a bid so that I was at my max. I am pretty sure that they were connected to the bidder, because it wasn't the first auction in their history that this had happened to. The one thing that I will say though, if you bid him way up and somehow win.....you should complete the transaction. As long as you are willing to pay for whatever you bid, I think you are being ethical.

I just hate it when there are 199 or 50 or 25 of a card and someone thinks they have to own every single one of them and just because they have thousands of dollars to spend they get the cards and the one guy who would be happy to just have one gets nothing. So i figure if hes going to win them all he is going to pay for them.

Its not like they are going cheap and im just whining because im not willing to pay. They are going 2x BV and more. Noone else is willing to pay except this guy. selfish

i dont think your being unethical as long as your fine with paying for it if you end up winning the thing. i understand how you can be ticked off but there is a certain card of a player i collect that i want all 10 copies of. and i dont care who doesnt get one as long as i get all 10 lol. if im willing to spend a bunch of my hard earned money and time looking for the things, then i deserve them just as much as the next guy. so while it sucks, i dont disagree with the guy buying them all if he wants to.

lol yeah its just gronk Thanks for the heads up though. He is after every pats refractor though so i follow him around making sure he pays for them all in hopes that he wont have as much to spend on the next gronk that i want. I have all the regular non auto refractors right now but need another gold because the one i got isnt perfect....only near perfect.

Well if you intend on paying if you win the card, I don't see anything wrong. I would personally send a message to the guy asking if wouldn't mind cutting you a break on a particular card if you know he already has it. Maybe you can work something out with him so you don't need to bid each other up to ridiculous amounts.

If you are creating multiple accounts and not paying up then just to screw with him then that is wrong. I don't think you are doing that though.

How do you retract bids? How do you as a seller even remove bids? I've never seen it myself.

Dude...i MAKE EM' PAY...if i dont win...after 2-3 bids i am hot under the collar anyway..so i bid more to make em pay,if i win 1 or 2 so be it..

SO worth it,.. knowing they are lighting $100 bills on fire and your laughing away at this point.
