This always works for me - by her something, anything, not even of equal value and then buy away

Here's the logic - The stuff they buy can be used over and over again. For cardboard, there's no value in the card UNTIL they're sold off, so to them, you're wasting money, especially if its PC cards.

RE: Wife and cards?
my wife once snapped my game used autographed fred mcgriff bat in half, after getting in an argument with her about her shoe collection (this was over 10 years ago when we were dating)
half irish, half portuguese, all temper
if you are wondering why i stayed with her after that? she loves sports as much as i do (even if she is a celtics fan), she's an incredible cook, she's smart, and well...she's wicked hot (im completely punching above my weight)
im dumb, but i aint smart stupid

RE: Wife and cards?
My wife has not said anything about my cards for quite a long time... until recently. She heard me telling someone the bv of my Bradford PC was well over $10k, and that is excluding all the cards I have #/10 or less.
I swear I could hear the "KA-CHING!!!" in her head.
