Rank your top 10 players in the game today and TOP 10 of All-Time
#51

RE: Rank your top 10 players in the game today and TOP 10 of All-Time
Obviously this is very subjective, but I have read the entire post with great interest in how everyone thinks...very interesting arguments on some points.

I do not think I am well versed enough in baseball lore to put together an All-Time Greats list, so I will skip that part of the "debate.

As for today's players, I know who I would not want to have in the box against my team:

Albert Pujols
Robinson Cano
Miguel Cabrera
Adrian Gonzalez
Ryan Braun
Josh Hamilton
Jose Bautista
Joey Votto
Prince Fielder
Victor Martinez (I might get flamed for this, but I think if he did not catch for so many years...)

In the discussion:
Jose Reyes
Troy Tulowitski
Jacoby Ellsbury
Hunter Pence
Dustin Pedroia
Michael Young
Joe Mauer

Good discussion.
Looking for:
2012 Total Memorabilia Tony Stewart Melting
TripleĀ 1/1
Quad 1/1
Jumbo 1/1
Hot Rod Relics 1/1

05 Studio Portraits Bob Feller (45/56, 80% complete)

I collect Tony Stewart, Bob Feller, Steve Yzerman, Victor Martinez.

I'll just stick with all-time. Admittedly, I don't pay as much attention to the modern game as I used to.

No particular order:

Ted Williams
Cy Young
Babe Ruth
Lou Gehrig
Walter Johnson
Ty Cobb
Willie Mays
Stan Musial
Joe DiMaggio
Rogers Hornsby

I read this whole thing and I am impressed that my guy Josh Hamilton got so much love. I have always thought he was somewhat overlooked, but I guess not! Just glad to see he is appreciated. It's a shame he was out of baseball for so long, he has no shot at the HOF as a result.....

If you take victor martinez out and put longoria in , this is my list . I think its very fair and accurate. Although martinez shdnt be in the discussion either lol.

If you are going to this right, you have to separte hitters and pitchers. You also have to separate all-around players from hitters.

Sabermetrics... blah overrated in some regards

There is a reason the teams that adopted that setup have since s-canned it
