I can't believe people are putting Ichiro, Jeter, Chipper, Ortiz etc, but it's your list so do what you want with it Wink ...And Arod is not top 10 anymore, barely top 30 at this point.

No particular order

1. Ryan Braun
2. Albert Pujols
3. Miguel Cabrera
4. Matt Kemp
5. Jose Bautista
6. Troy Tulowitzki
7. Jose Reyes
8. Prince Fielder
9. Josh Hamilton
10. Jacoby Ellsbury

(Honorable mention Cano, Adrian Gonzalez, Votto)

Hard to narrow it down to 10....

Retired

Bonds
Ruth
Mays
T Williams
Cal Ripken
Hank Aaron
Hornsby
Joe Dimaggio (Some great seasons, some not, 369 career SO though)
Ty Cobb
Mantle

And a second 10....still no room for Chipper (if we are including all steroid players)

Griffey
Henderson
Lou Gehrig
Musial
Jimmie Foxx
Frank Thomas
Mark McGwire
Manny Ramirez
Sosa
Honus Wagner

And a 3rd Chipperless 10

Arod
Pujols
Mike Schmidt
Thome
Killebrew
Reggie Jackson
Tony Gwynn
Roberto Clemente (should have been in my second list)
Eddie Murray (3k hits AND 500 HR)
Palmeiro (see above)

31. Chipper
Player collecting Dominic Smith

Honestly no I don't think Chipper jones would make anyone's list of top ten all time players. But what are we basing this list on? Statistically he beat several of those players on that list in Batting avg., hits or RBi's. Are we placing more importance on a home run hitter? Ty Cobb had 1,000 more hits than Bonds. Because Bonds hit a ton of HR's does that make him a better hitter? I'll agree stats can be manipulated to so many different things thats why I wonder what we are basing this on. There are many great hitters that got tons of hits but weren't power hitter's like Ruth, Mantle, Bonds and the rest.

yes and .ops is slightly flawed. It weighs on base percentage equally with slugging percentage. Those two numbers are typically not equal. I'm not saying that Bonds or anyone on that list don't deserve to be there. I'm just trying to figure out what everyone is basing there list on.

I pretty much agree with your top ten current players list , mine would prob match although id take reyes out and put cano in for sure. And id replace kemp with longoria...kemp had a monster year but i think hes gotta get alittle more consistent year in and year out....im also alittle biased lol

I would have to go

Babe Ruth
Ted Williams
Cal Ripken jr
Willie mays
Mickey Mantle
Mike Schmidt
Albert Pujols
Ken Griffey jr
Pete Rose
Hank Aaron

Mike Schmidt is getting no love. Three time MVP, 10 gold gloves, 548 home runs, sporting news player of the decade in 80's.
Collecting Bob Feller, 1951 Bowman, anything Cleveland.

I love Mike Schmidt but he led the league in strikeouts four times and had a low average.
