More Quality control issues at Topps
#11

RE: More Quality control issues at Topps
Not trying to knock anyone here but I continue finding myself feeling less and less sorry for people that are having these issues.

Reason being is that we all know the fiasco of last year and the redemption problems, from what I can see anyway, seem to have gotten worse this year. If it's been happening with essentially each product, then why put the money towards something new that will more than likely have the same issues? If one has seen other people having the issue with a product, then why go drop the money on it yourself? By feeding it, you're only going to keep bringing it back.

If someone came up and took a knee to your junk, are you going to go back the next day asking the guy to do it again?

So what do you suggest we do? I have been collecting baseball cards for 25 years and topps is the only player in the game. Should I give up collecting all together so I don't get kicked in the nuts.

I'm not suggesting anything for anybody, it's not my money. However, if people are going to continue shelling out the money regardless of what they are doing, don't expect it to get better anytime soon.

My suggestion is to keep buying and keep posting your troubles here. It keeps me entertained. I agree with RiceLynn. It is not our money you're spending. I'm sure sooner or later, Topps will realize that more and more of their customers are not happy and I am sure they will fix things sometime soon. Please DO NOT hold your breath until that happens though. It might be a long while....

Buy singles from previous years on the secondary market so that you arent directly supporting Topps new releases that all have a huge set of issues.

Yeah, i think i am done buying Topps Wax until they get their act together. Buying the singles i need will have to be my new Modus Operandi. My LCS is going to be heart broken, but my wife will love me with all the extra money in the checking account!

I actually went on a rant about this last night in another thread. Im sick of it too! I have had redemption issues and have decided im done buying boxes and packs. Topps has a monoply on the baseball card industry and until they feel the loss in their pockets, nothing will change. Its hard to believe that a company can operate like this in 2011 but it just goes to show how screwed up our country is!!!

I say we all start a petition of some sort and send it to Topps!

I would love to just buy the singles that I need for my PC..BUT..

I can not stop opening boxes and packs..
I can not
I have seen someone professionally and no amount of therapy or drugs helps...
It is an uncontrollable urge that is not treatable...

I just have to open and rip and wait..there is a pack over there!!

Sorry got to go!!!!

Then sue Topps for taking advantage of and adding emotional distress to your OCD. I'm sure many other people could do the same.

When I walk into a hobby store I get the same feeling as when I walk into a casino.. "This is going to cost me a lot of money...." lol Pack/Box buying is a lot like gambling (I've worked in and been around the gaming industry my entire life).. the whole risk/reward thing. Though I've never ended up blackout drunk in a hotel room with two hookers, an 8-ball and an ounce of grass after spending time in a hobby store, so there are some dissimilarities.
