it helps a lot. Always do a complete search for prices on Ebay. There is a trick too. Use .CA on the link on some of the searches where the final price is not showing.
Be careful of reprints/fakes out there. My best bet if unsure, is to post pic/link before buying and ask the buyer questions beforehand. DOnt fall for those trap that was handed down from grandpa or was a basement find and such.
I dont visit here as much, as i directed myself to SGC and using Net54 and found a lot of folks and reading material. Search the forums on past threads. Its mainly vintage. but there a group for post-war stuff.
Thanks... I checked them both out... I'm not ready to subscribe to another paid site, especially for vintage (just beginning), but the PSA SMR is helpful... and seems like a very realistic price guide for graded cards.
I checked the first few links on net54 and saw a post on spotting a fraudulent 52 topps Mantle card on Ebay... Seems like an amazing resource! I found a few cards that I REALLY like and are in the 60-$150 range in PSA 6-8... After I gather those up I may start looking upwards, at which point I will definitely make use of those resources!
Your input is greatly appreciated.
