I'm a Brett Butler supercollector. I'll figure out how to flesh this post out when I get more of a chance, but for now I'll provide a couple of links to my collection.

I have been collecting Butler since around 1996 or so. I'm a huge Dodger fan living in Giant country, and in spite of my allegiance to the Dodgers, there is usually at least one Giant every year that I can't help but like. Over the years, that has included Robby Thompson, Omar Vizquel, Randy Winn, Bill Mueller and Butler. To me, Butler was the consummate ballplayer - great hitter, great fielder, ran the bases well, could steal you a base, awesome bunter. I was thrilled when he joined the Dodgers. When I got back into card collecting in '96, I slowly started picking up his cards. It didn't take long for the collecting mentality to take over, and I found that I had to have them all!

I have 492 of the 512 cards listed by Beckett, which is a 96% completion percentage. Of the 20 I'm missing, nine of them are 1/1. I know at least two of them (1997 Flair Showcase Masterpieces) are overseas in a private collection and will most likely never be seen again. My goal is to one day own every licenced card ever issued, plus all the unlicensed ones, too. As any player collector knows, there are lots of cards available that aren't officially recognized here, but are out there nonetheless.

On my main page, there are links to scans of each card in my collection, plus some other really cool stuff, such as the original contract that assigned Butler from AA Savannah to AAA Richmond (signed by Hank Aaron).

As the remaining cards have become increasingly hard to find, I have branched out to a couple of other endeavors, namely a PSA registry and TTM/IP autographs on as many different cards as I can. The autographed cards are very few for now, but I plan to increase them a lot in the future.
