2009 Topps Legends of the Game Question

2009 Topps Legends of the Game Question
I've recently obtained a number of the 2009 Topps Legends of the Game cards. What's the difference between a 2009 Topps Target Legends and a 2009 Topps Target Legends Gold card. Beckett lists them at different values and neither is serial numbered. Aren't all the Target Legends cards gold in color? The only difference I notice are that some of the cards seem to have a black border and others seem to have a brown border.

Same question with the Walmart Legends. Some have a black border and some have a silver border but they're all silver (or platinum) in color. How do I determine what I have?
I collect Hall of Fame baseball player cards and cards of current and retired superstars.

RE: 2009 Topps Legends of the Game Question
For the regular issue:
Cards that were sequentially-numbered (i.e. "LG-10") were inserted into Series One packs; while those that were sequentially-lettered (i.e. "LG-AP") were in Series Two. Each card is also available in the following parallels.
  • Gold (serial-numbered to 99 copies)
  • Platinum (serial-numbered to 25 copies)
2009 also in Update as LGU #

Border colors were different also depending on Walmart/Target and hobby?

This is a confusing set running through multiple product releases.
