Checked off the needlist - 23 years LATER!!

Checked off the needlist - 23 years LATER!!
Unlike today's releases, some parallels or low serial numbered cards are actually hard to find especially from the 1990s.

This is the case for 1998 Collector's Edge Masters Hologold Mark Brunell #76 (#/10).

I actually bought one in 1999 from ebay, but back then you paid via check and there was no tracking. The card never came, questions to the seller never answered, ebay was not much help back then. I ended up with no card nor a refund.

Generally another example would surface as time went by, but for some reason, not this card! Finally, 23 years later the only graded example of this card was listed on ebay two weeks ago.

I was extremely nervous because it took FORTY USPS scans from 8 different cities later, while being bounced back and forth city to city and back again, it finally arrives!

With 20+ years collecting, this is the most comprehensive single player collection in the world! Beckett lists 4000+ cards - I'm at 95% completion!

Oh what a feeling! I know EXACTLY how that feels (well hope to some day). I have 4 set from 1997-2001 that are missing just one card and I look for em every day (No brainer reason you got the Brunell checker). Nothing like the feeling of finishing something like you just did so HUGE congrats! Love the extra excitement of the crazy journey to finally get to you (only because of the happy ending of course)!
ID VIKESRULE on most other trade sites. Don't care about BV if the deal is right.
Cris Carter super collector and die hard Vikings guy!

JR - you must have been sweating BULLETS if you were looking at that tracking every day. I'm grateful you finally got to that this to your collection. Sometimes I wonder if some of the sets I pursue will take me another couple decades to complete. The incompleteness mocks me!

Back to the card, I always appreciated Collector's Edge trying different stuff. They were an early company to release low print runs like and some of their experiments with graded box toppers and memorabilia were cool. I'd like to think they helped spur innovation in the industry and this is a fine example of those early efforts.

Agreed, I always liked Collector's Edge stuff ... they were one of the first companies to roll out Charlie Batch RCs back in 1998 ... big stuff for my Lions PC back then, LOL
