I have a bunch of those Star sets from the late 80s, mostly irrelevant players, but I can't list them for trade because they appear not to be in the Beckett database.  For instance, I have an Eric Davis Star Platinum set (out of 1000), but the only Star Eric Davis sets are in 1988 and don't match the numbering (this set is 121-130).  

Is the reason that they aren't listed is because they had issues with licensing or something else?

I found a thread on another forum that was discussing these cards and, after reading that, the only thing I can figure is that nobody really knows what the heck is in these sets. There seem to be a ton of different variations based on what the player collectors had dug up and one mentioned that, along with Beckett, even the Standard Catalog doesn't have much to go on in the way of what's actually out there or what was made.

So, my guess is Beckett doesn't have even a checklist because nobody ever got one in the first place.

As with a lot of 3rd party or unlicensed products, they are not list in the database.   Maybe if the company provided a checklist instead of collectors added to the checklist..it would be different..

I found a set of Daryl Strawberry Star cards in a collection I bought. I checked eBay, like I always do, after I didn't find them here. I wound up just throwing them away since they were only worth about $1 it seems.

That seems about right. They are probably exclusively sought by player collectors as the photography on them is definitely b-roll, card quality is not great, and their tiering system doesn't make sense (foil for silver and gold, not platinum, but platinum has fewer sets, sometimes). Plus the cards will be listed as one year, but the serial number sticker will say a different year.
