pricing box sets

pricing box sets
Online chat does not seem to understand my question. Can anyone explain to me how to navigate this site so I can price my complete "box Sets"? I have priced my card collection. I just can't seem to figure out where to find the pricing on box sets. Thanks!!

RE: pricing box sets
I have only figured out to select every individual card of a set to get a total value. I have never seen box set values.

RE: pricing box sets
Ok! It has been awhile since I collected. There use to be box set values in the Beckett's magazines! So now a box value is the value of all the cards in it? Interesting....

For instance. 1989 Upper Deck Box Set. Total value of cards is like $450? Is that how much my box set is worth as an unopened factory set?

I'm just trying to value my collection.

Thanks for responding!!

No. The complete set value is usually much lower, that's why you can buy a complete Topps Series 1 & 2 set at Target right now for $39.99.

Maybe Bob, Randi or one of the mods can help?

Using the example of the 1989 UD look at the "stats page" (https://www.beckett.com/baseball/1989/upper-deck/) and down under "Header Lines" box it shows the breakdown of the factory set. Is that what you are trying to find?

RE: pricing box sets
Here's what I do to find the price of complete sets. Keep in mind not all sets are priced and you do need an OPG for the sport.

My example is I want to know the book value on the flagship 1991 Topps set.

1. Go to the search bar at the top, select Baseball, type in 1991 Topps Chipper Jones
Result >>>>> https://www.beckett.com/search/?term=199...start=1991

2. Click on the card from the set I want priced out. Click on 1991 Topps #333 Chipper Jones RC
Result >>>>> https://www.beckett.com/baseball/1991/to...rc-3970321

3. Scroll down to "Item Details" and click on Set: 1991 Topps
Result >>>>> https://www.beckett.com/baseball/1991/topps/

4. Scroll down to Header lines > COMPLETE SET (792) and enjoy!

I love the mini-write ups Beckett used to do in the Set Information box in the upper right corner of the set page. Doesn't seem like they've kept up with that over the last couple of years.

Wish I could find a complete set at my Target or even my Walmart. Still nothing but cobwebs.
I collect Hall of Fame baseball player cards and cards of current and retired superstars.

I've actually seen a few of these around.

Baseball has generally been available, though I have seen zero Chronicles.

Early football was fairly available, but not much since the pro jersey stuff started coming out.

Basketball?

Pfffft, not a single new pack, jumbo or blaster since late February.

Hockey?

As much as you want.

(In fact, I had a rather good pull this morning, check it out on the hockey breaks!)

RE: pricing box sets
For the past several years Beckett has just given up putting values for complete sets. I do football sets (Prestige, Score, Rookies & Stars and some others) and under Header Lines all the set info is a bunch of N/A. For my database, I just have to ballpark a value. Pretty pathetic of Beckett.

Picked up my Topps factory set today at Target. That is all they had at both of my nearby Targets. Was worried I screwed up by passing one up a few weeks ago when I saw them (didn't last long then). Not sure if the sharks a snagging those and throwing the tops rookies on ebay or not. Didn't want to pass up a second time.
I collect Andre Johnson, JJ Watt, Redskins who played in the 70’s & 80’s, HOF’ers and Texas A&M Aggies.
