2020 Beckett Community Mock Draft
#11

RE: 2020 Beckett Community Mock Draft
Im happy, I did not think Queen would be there for the Ravens. They had a good third round too with 4 picks.

I think the Cowboys were floored that CeeDee was there at 17. They were probably planning to get someone else and couldn't pass that up.

The Raiders take the fastest receiver in the draft and everyone was joking that Al Davis made that pick from the grave.
I collect Ray Lewis, Roger Staubach, Drew Pearson, Kellen Winslow Sr..  I no longer keep my Org here up to date. Please check with me.  Here is a thread with links to my inventory.

Lol, Packers must've smoked too much before the draft. This draft has made no sense at all on any level. I kind of understand the Love pick. You can never have too many good QBs. And he's an upgrade as a backup. But they passed up on 3 starting mlbs, 3 #1 or 2 WRs, and OT, all to take some no name TE and a no name RB who may not make the roster. INSANE! We have criminally wasted Rodgers good years. And it looks like we'll do it again. I heard a report that Chris Jacke put out the theory that the Packers believe there will be no season this year, so they were looking at it like this is a 2 draft year. Still doesn't make sense. I'm really disappointed in the draft for them. Maybe 3-4 years from now we find out that Rodgers skills have declined, and Love is the second coming of Mahomes, and we forget that the packers flamed out year after year lol.

I thought lots of teams had strong drafts. Vikins got better I think. Lions maybe. Bears not bad. I think the Raiders and Chargers made out like bandits. Ravens made some good strides in chasing the Chiefs. That Cowboys offense could be scary if they take a center yet. Outside of the packers picks, it's been a fun draft lol. I'm happy for two of my favorite Badgers, Taylor who went to Indy, and Baun who went to the Saints. Today should see our beast of a center go, and possibly Quentez Cephus, though he was very slow at WR, so he may not get drafted.

I was impressed that 5 Gophers were picked up in the Draft when 2 or 3 were expected to make it. I looked at the NFL Network Grades and surprised that the Raiders received the worst grade, and not surprised that the Vikes were in the top 5 with so many picks.

It was cool to see the Gophers finally have some guys make it! The team seems to be attracting better talent the last 2 years!

While the professional pundits didn't seem to like the Eagles draft very much, they did exactly what they needed to do - bring in serious speed and youth for the wide receiver group and defense (especially at linebacker). Plus, it is rather remarkable that people who are actually paid to talk about the NFL were criticizing the Eagles for not drafting a cornerback - you'd think that people paid to talk about the NFL would remember that the Eagles had traded draft picks for Darius Slay.

I think the Eagles did ok. I don't know much about the WR they took, but taking Hurts seemed like a good plan to me. With Wentz struggling to be healthy, why not get a guy who can potentially carry the team if Wentz is hurt? I feel like this makes them stronger, not weaker.

One reason why Reagor was relatively low profile is that TCU (a team that tends to emphasize defense) had very bad quarterback play last year and he was about the only weapon on offense for TCU - but he matches the Eagles offense very well and his athletic profile (speed, agility) is elite. I believe he was the receiver who the Eagles had targeted all along.

Doug Peterson follows the Andy Reid plan - so his offense depends upon having a fast wide receiver to open up space for the short - and Reid has always tended to use the draft to get back up quarterbacks

Eagles are proving themselves to be a very stable franchise. I'd trust their system if I was a fan! I'm happy for Doug Pederson that he has this team. Some of the most stable franchises have been the Patriots, Ravens, Eagles, Saints, and Seahawks. And the Steelers I guess. Each team seems to always have the next man up coached and ready to go, and don't seem to miss a beat even when they lose someone. Their systems should be the gold standard for the rest of the league.

New England trades out of the first round, then uses their first selection on a D-2 defensive back. Only thing they didn't do that they normally do is choose a player from Rutgers. Other than that, they covered all their typical bases.

I read that BB is trying to build his defense to defend the RPO since that's where the NFL is trending. Uche is a good LB in coverage on TEs and RBs, Dugger is a speedy, athletic type who can also thump in run support (much like Chung) and Jennings from Alabama is quietly good at getting in traffic (18 passes defensed by a pass rushing LB). Also brought in a kicker, which is good because their specialist situation was horrid.

Not picking a QB (but picking up two UDFAs) points towards the brass having confidence in Stidham. As Pats fans love to say, In Bill We Trust.....for now.
Collect BARRY SANDERS, Tom Brady, Bama Alums and Randy Moss

I only give DC for trades over $50

Lol. It seemed like a very usual Patriot draft to me. Hard working versatility on the defense. Not a bad plan when you have to go through the Ravens and Mahomes for the foreseeable future.
