To me it is kind of like the stock market crash...bad deal, but does not affect me one bit since I don't grade cards, just like I don't trade on the stock market.

Yikes. I didn't realize there were newer threads regarding this stuff. I thought you meant the older ones. That's pretty ridiculous.

Eye brows raised, but trying to keep an open mind as long as I can. I'll admit, though, the data that one user compiled comes off as pretty credible.
Interested to see it play out.

RE: Whats Your Guys Take on the Grading Company Drama?
I was reading through the threads myself a week or so ago, and yea, it's pretty crazy.
They called out a certain guy who appears to buy raw cards that are slightly damaged and then trims them, sends them in, and still gets 10's. They did show some evidence, but I didn't dive into it enough to see how credible it was.
They also called out a gentlemen who used to work for one of the grading companies that kept receiving 10's from his former employee.
How do I feel about everything? I am sure there is some shady stuff going on. I just wonder how long until the market just completely crashes on graded cards. If cards are altered, and are not being labeled as such and people are paying a premium, that's a problem.
I'll be interested to see how this plays out. I only have 1 graded card and I thought I would keep it forever, but honestly, it has me thinking about dumping it now and just picking up a raw copy to have in my collection.
*Sigh*

Best case scenario - everything is on the up-and-up with these various companies, and you randomly get a generous grader and get a nice grade on your card.
More common scenario - Grading is subjective ... you think you have at least a 9.5 but you get a tough grader and it comes back a 9.
Worst case scenario - Lots of shady side-dealers (the notion of the more cards you submit the better grades you get), trimmers, scammers, etc.
I've never understood the appeal of the graded card thing.
If I can see a scan of the front and back of the card before I buy it or trade for it, that's enough for me.

I think graded cases are ugly and detract from the card appeal.

That one guy receiving multiple BGS 10 Black Labels per order when they are usually impossible to get is very shady.
I had a batch of cards ready for grading, but I will hold off until companies clean up this mess and catch up on their bulk turnaround times.
