Finally Caught the "Hamburglar". Ronald McDonald Would Be Proud of This Jersey!
Here is our newest addition to the museum! Like usual, don't forget to "LIKE" Bruce C. Goaltending Museum on Facebook to see more detailed photos, experience bi-weekly pieces of the week and enjoy other fun stuff. Also "FOLLOW" us on Twitter and show us your support!

Born on February 11, 1988 in Surrey, British Columbia, Andrew "The Hamburglar" Hammond was the starting goaltender of Bowling Green State University before being signed as a free agent by the Ottawa Senators at the conclusion of the 2012-13 season. In 2013-14, Hammond appeared in 48 games with the AHL's Binghamton Senators and recorded 25 wins in his first pro season of hockey. Then, that same season, it happened. On February 27, 2014, Andrew Hammond replaced Robin Lehner in net and stopped all 11 shots he faced in 34 minutes of ice time against the Detroit Red Wings. 2014-15 was an interesting season for Hammond. Starting the season with the Binghamton Senators, Hammond was brought up to the main club in February and didn't look back. In 24 regular season NHL games that season, he recorded 20 wins, 1 loss, and 2 OT losses. Absolutely unreal for a rookie. He almost single-handedly led the club to the playoffs, however, after two average playoff games, Craig Anderson replaced him between the pipes. The following season, he was kept on the parent club and appeared in another 24 games, however, his numbers were a shadow of his previous season's. Getting injured early in the 2016-17 season, Hammond only ended up playing in six games for the Sens and five games in the AHL. In the early part of the 2017-18 season, he was acquired by the Colorado Avalanche as a part of the deal that saw Matt Duchene go to Ottawa. Hammond appeared in one game for the Avs and was also thrust in between the pipes for three of the team's playoff games, posting strong numbers. On free agency day, July 1, 2018, he was signed by the Minnesota Wild to a one year deal.

As his career is still ongoing, stats will not be posted at this time.

What you are looking at right now is a 2015-16 Road Set 1 Jersey worn from the beginning of the season until January. It features noticeable wear in the form of stick and puck marks, as well as some light piling on the sleeves. It was also easily photomatched.

That equipment manager probably remembers everything.
I appreciate Chicago players that begin competing within the city's sports organizations and stay with these teams throughout their careers.
