Born on July 23, 1977 in Des Moines, Iowa, and playing for Boston College, Scott Clemmensen was an 8th round draft pick of the New Jersey Devils in 1997. In 2001-02, his first year out of college, Clemmensen assumed back-up duties for the Albany River Rats. Then...it happened. On October 6, 2001, Clemmensen replaced Martin Brodeur between the pipes against Washington and he stopped 4 of the 5 shots that he faced in the lone period he played. He appeared in net for another 20ish seconds in early November that year. His next NHL action came two seasons later when, in his first NHL start in goal, he recorded a 25 save shutout against Pittsburgh on January 20, 2004. In four NHL appearances that year, he managed to record two shutouts. For the next three seasons, Clemmensen alternated between playing for the Devils and their minor league affiliate. Eventually he was allowed to leave as a free agent and he was scooped up by the Toronto Maple Leafs. He only got into three games with the Leafs, but recorded near career worst numbers. The following season, he was once again back with New Jersey appearing in 40 games and taking the starting role after Martin Brodeur went down with injury. He did well in that stint, recording 25 wins. The following season, he was once again on the move as the Florida Panthers signed him. From 2009-10 until 2013-14, Clemmensen remained a property of the Panthers and assumed full-time back-up duties. In 2014-15, the Devils signed him for a third time and he closed out his NHL career with the team that he started with. He then became a goalie coach with the Devils.

In 191 games, Clemmensen recorded a 73-59-24 record with seven shutouts, three assists, a 2.79GAA, and a 0.905% save average. In four playoff games, he recorded a 1-2 record with one assist, a 2.25GAA and a 0.923% save average.

What you are looking at right now is a 2008-09 season game used stick used by Scott Clemmensen the year he was thrust into the starting role in New Jersey. A fine stick with fine wear.
