Bend "Danis" and Observe This New Addition to the Museum!
So it's been a while since I added a new piece to the collection due to the logistics of being a single home-owner, but I digress as it makes every new piece feel extra special as they come in. This is the first of five that I am currently getting in.

Again, don't forget to "Like" Bruce C. Goaltending Museum on Facebook and follow us on Twitter @BrCGoalieMuseum.

Born on June 21, 1981 in Lafontaine, Quebec, Yann Danis was a highly skilled goaltender signed as a free agent in 2004 by the Montreal Canadiens, straight out of Brown University. Danis played the 2004-05 lockout season with Montreal's minor league affiliate in the AHL before the 2005-06 campaign rolled around. On October 12, 2005, he made his NHL debut and started his career strong, getting a shutout in his NHL debut. He appeared in five more NHL games that season, however, he spent the majority of the year with Hamilton. With Hamilton, he remained in the AHL for two more seasons before the New York Islanders signed him as a free agent. In 2008-09, he appeared in a career high 31 games with the Isles, recording careers bests in wins and shutouts. The following season, he was signed by the New Jersey Devils to back-up Martin Brodeur full time. After that season, he spent a year in the KHL before returning as a third-stringer with the Edmonton Oilers for two seasons, appearing in four NHL games, and ultimately being the AHL starter. Danis bounced around the AHL for a couple more seasons before once again being signed by the New Jersey Devils for the 2015-16 campaign. As their full-time AHL starter, he appeared in two additional NHL games. He played a final AHL season in 2016-17 with the St. John's Ice Caps before officially retiring from play in February 2018.

In his NHL career, Danis appeared in 55 NHL games, recording a 17-22-4 record with a 2.79GAA, three shutouts, and a 0.908% save average. He appeared in zero playoff games.

What you are looking at right now is a stick used by Yann Danis at some point in the 2009-10 season while with the New Jersey Devils. Wear is noticeable and the stick is very appealing.
