1996-97 Fleer and Fleer European - is the numbering.

1996-97 Hoops - the base cards have a gold foil; the silvers (series skip numbered parallel - not all cards have a silver version) have a silver foil. The foil is the writing on the front.

Not quite entirely correct Wink

1996-97 Fleer Series I (1-150) vs. 1996-97 Fleer Series I European (1-150) cards are IDENTICAL and NO difference in cards, design, copy-write, or numbering of players.
1996-97 Fleer Series II (151-300) vs 1996-97 Fleer Series II European (151-330) is where the numbering is different.
IMO....the 1996-97 Fleer Series I European should be REMOVED from the checklists and guides as there is NO distinction between a US vs. Euro card.

That's right - there's the team info cards sandwiched between the two sets, isn't there?

I had wondered about the Fleer European sets as well and recently broke down and bought some packs. The first 149 cards are identical. Card 150 (Checklist 2) has a different listing on the front and back vs the regular version. Then cards 151-180 are the team cards.

Very interesting. What's the point of listing the "European" set if there is no difference, Beckett?
I appreciate Chicago players that begin competing within the city's sports organizations and stay with these teams throughout their careers.
