What can you tell me about the 2012 661 harper.

What can you tell me about the 2012 661 harper with the rc logo to the right of the name instead of on top of the name.
Why is it so expensive. Was this a factory set only release? This is the card I mean. Harper 661

The one in the photo in your link is the version that was found in series 2 in 2012 but was VERY shortprinted.
The ones you may see that look like it with the RC logo above his name are the mini's Their is also 2 other variations of the card 661 that are factory set variations.

I'll tell you this ... Topps completely blew it with this card.
They were in such a yank to get it in Series 2 that they SPd the heck out of it, to the point where the average collector can't pull one or even afford one. Then they complicated matters by sticking the dumb "RC logo" on the ensuing MLB Debut subset card in the Update series. Since then there have been about a thousand different reprints in some format or another, so you can at least have a knockoff at a reasonable price. |
