Rare or oddball sets?

Rare or oddball sets?
Going to cross post this in the other sports forums, too, but...

I'm not talking about parallels inserted in base card packs. I'm talking about sets that were available COMPLETELY on their own.

Sets like:
1) 1991 Topps Desert Shield Baseball
2) 1977 Topps Mexican Football
3) 1975 Topps Mini Baseball

All of those had their own packs, for example.

Anyway, I'm sure there are others I don't know about. I just found out about the Topps Mexican football set only about 2 years ago.

Suggestions for a collector interested in similar sets?

Thanks!

2001 Quantum Retail. Was a K-Mart blaster exclusive. Might still be uncatalogued.
1990 Pro Set Cincinnati
1987 Ace Fax Packs
1988 Monty Gum Stickers

The high end base sets (/150 or less) now-a-days are incredibly scarce in comparison to all of these.

Trying to finish these sets:
1999 Upper Deck Strike Force Quantum /100
2000 Score Complete Players Green/ Blue
2000 Leaf Piece of the Game Preview 4th Down Isaac Bruce
2008 Premier NFL Equipment /25 John Elway

Let me know if you have any available.

I was always a big fan of the early 90's local police-issued NFL cards... when I was 3 or so, Thurman Thomas signed my 89 RC from that set, and it somehow still exists in great condition, a really unique item!

Pacific did a lot of retail vs hobby packs, where the only difference in the cards was the color of the foil on the front. Playoff also did some retail vs hobby packs, but the differences were usually more distinguishable.
Collecting John Stockton, Karl Malone, Ivan Rodriguez, Gary Carter & UF player rookie year cards.  Plus Jedd Gyorko rookie and prospect cards.
