When did they start issuing parallel cards with a numbering up to the current year?
This year you can get Topps cards numbered up to 2015. Next year it will be up to 2016. When did they start numbering cards up to the current year?

Looks like Topps starting numbering Topps Gold to the correlating year in 2001.
