Hi fellow collectors!
Can anyone please highlight the differences between the base and the refractor for 1998-99 Bowman's Best #71 Jamal Mashburn.

Any input would be much appreciated as it's hard to distinguish the two in the price guide.

One way is to simply put the card in bright light and move it from side to side. If you see a rainbow effect, it is a refractor. The base cards will be shiny but not have the rainbow effect. With this year in particular if you flip the card over and look at the number it should say refractor under the card number.

You can google "1998-99 bowman's best refractor back" and select the images option to see that the refractor cards have the word refractor written on the back under the card number. Hope this helps.
