Shipping collection overseas

Does anyone have any advice or experience with shipping a collection overseas? I have about 30 or so card boxes filled with either top loaders or loose cards. Also boxes of magazines, books and other assorted memorabilia, but it's the cards I am most worried about.

I've never shipped cards but I would probably put all cards (not in top loaders) in those white 1,000 count boxes and then put those boxes in a big box with peanuts or bubble wrap and ship it that way.
Excellent. Big help. I didn't even think of that.
I say it depends on where you are sending them to. I lived in China and half my stuff was gone went it got to me. And being a outsider I was up a creek.
