** Not only am I trying to build up my post count and credibility with the Beckett baseball community so that I can get to trading with folks, but I am still a year and some change into getting back into the hobby and have a lot of legit questions. So, I apologize for any that might seem like dumb questions lol.
*** And with this question, finding the correct answer could mean about a $100 difference in the Beckett value of one of my cards lol.
I was going through my 2013 Topps RCs to start re-adding them to my Org. Just scanning through, I noticed that I had two DIFFERENT Manny Machado cards, both with the same number (#270). So, I'm thinking, "Heck, yea. A Machado variation that I didn't know I had!"
When I looked in the OPG for 2013 Topps base set, I only see the following two back-to-back items in the list for Manny Machado:
1- "2013 Topps #270A Manny Machado RC"
2- "2013 Topps #270B Manny Machado SP/Black jsy"
One card I can tell is the real base card, which is the one with him wearing the orange jersey and throwing the ball. The other card I have he is wearing a grey jersey and batting. Both cards show him wearing those really think black sleeves that extend from under the shirt.
What I am trying to get at is, what is the second card I have. I went through CardboardConnection to see what all the variations and SPs were, but there wasn't one shown for Manny. Then I went to COMC and found something interesting.
On COMC, there of course is a bunch of the regular (orange jersey) cards for sell. I did not see anything at all that looked like a "black" jersey. But I did find a couple of cards that are the same as my extra card (with him batting in the grey jersey). The name on COMC for this is:
1- "2013 Topps Factory Set Rookie Variation #270"
Is it possible that I have the variation card that is listed in Beckett even though he doesn't have a black jersey on (unless I am misinterpreting the "Black jsy" that Beckett says)? Or MAYBE Beckett made a mistake in labeling it a black jersey?
Or do I have a second variation card that for some reason is not listed on Beckett? In an attempt to show what cards I have, I will provide a link to COMC for the two cards that I have:
1- The original Manny base card

2- The variation Manny card
http://www.comc.com/Cards/Baseball/2013/...do/6923849
Any help or guidance would be much appreciated. Especially if someone viewing this thread has the second card I referred to, or even both.
Thanks, ya'll!
