Preferred trader question.

Have over 300 trades but never did much with the friends , traders , and especially preferred trader section of trader stats. I met some good people and thought it would be nice to give a shout out and if it helps them to mark them as preferred trader friend etc. Would appreciate it if someone could explain how. As usual thanks for any advice.
It is great to have so we can have new friends and keep up with the best traders. That is just my 2 cents worth.
