As a buyer, I try to pay within 3 days. If I don't have the money, I don't bid, or use PayPal's Buy it Later option. If a seller has other items, and I want to bid and use combined shipping, I might ask the seller if I can hold off to pay until I'm done shopping with them.
I've seen sellers list that if you don't have more than 100 positive feedbacks, don't bother bidding, or get pre approved. That makes sense.

I guess if I saved used tinfoil and used tea bags instead of old comic books and old baseball cards, the difference between a crazed hoarder and a savvy collector is in that inherent value.
