I was looking on Ebay this morning and saw a 2012-13 Panini Prizm Gold Refractor card John Stockton #6/10. What does #6/10 mean? I know the card number is six. Does it mean only ten of this card? I know there are more than ten cards in the set. It was up to $100.00 already with 12 hours to go, why? I like John Stockton, he was a great player, but its a 20012-13 card. I don't understand.

the gold prizm are numbered out of 10 hard hits to come by that means only 10 of the gold in the entire product for john stockton
It is a serial number stamped on the card. Not the card number. It translates into the fact that they made 10 gold refractors and this is number 6.
Since there are more than 10 Stockton collectors in the world, the price of this is very high because they are all competing for this card. Cards like this you might only see on ebay or other sites once a year or once in five years. You just never know.
Basically for that particular John Stockton Gold card, there were only 10 created in the entire world. This is going to be a hard to get card because in all the product that is opened, only 10 will be found ever. Compared to just the regular base card of John Stockton there might be thousands that are made.
There are actually 14 copies of the card because of the 4 printing plates
Thanks for the info guys. The price makes more sense now.

Players I Collect:

well the printing plates will be released in some product eventually
