Key is getting them in the minors lolWhen my grandparents were still living in Florida I spent a lot of time with the Blue Jays and Phillies, as well as the Rays and Pirates. I would even travel to Ft. Myers one day a year and always had decent success. I loved spending time in Dunedin with the Blue Jays. Pretty laid-back, friendly folks, nice players. Same with the Phillies, though I liked it a lot better before they built the new ballpark. Jack Russell Stadium had character, and I would always go over to the Carpenter Complex in the morning and venture to Jack Russell in the afternoon if there was a game there. Tampa? Avoided it like the plague. Heard too many horror stories about the droves of fans who would clamor for autographs. I didn't even bother going to away Yankee games except one time, and it was a zoo. I got Joe Torre and then gave up after getting pushed and shoved more than I liked. People were acting like the pope was in town!. Actually, I think a papal crowd would be more civil!!! I've tried a few guys TTM over the years and didn't even get those back. IMO, it's not worth the time to write a letter or the postage to mail cards that you're not likely to get back. C'est la vie.
