Well, after about a 15 years, I'm getting back into card collecting. Thing is...I have no clue as to where to start. Seems as though things have changed a bit since last I was into this.Was wondering if anyone could point me in the right direction as to what looked for now a days. Thanks.....

Now a days its all about autographs and jersey cards...and low numbered cards. Everything is short printed now and its not all about sets anymore...welcome back and im sure any question you ask will be answered...maybe start by opening a box or going to your LCS and seeing what you find interesteing

Welcome back! Keep it simple is the best advice. Find a player(s), team, or a couple of "sets" you like. I put sets in quotes because within each set are parallel and insert sets. Most people collect players or teams these days. Check out the Box Break section and see if you see anything you like. Or search ebay for your favorite player or team.
