Tyler's announcement from Hockey
Tyler is very proud to tell everyone here that his Minor Novice (born 2004) hockey team has been awarded the Mississauga's Mayor's Sportsmanship Team Award.
All the kids on the team will have a ceremony and have medals presented to them from mayor Hazel McCallion.
The team was the only team in ALL of the MHL (all age groups) to complete the regular season (17 games) without drawing a single penalty.
Must be the coaching (Me)
Anyways Tyler wanted to share this thanks for reading.

That's awesome Tyler! Congratulations!!
I may have some Cup cards for you once your dad updates his organize
LOL
Seriously though, what an honor for you and your team. It's not easy for some teams going a period without taking a penalty and yours did it for 17 games. Absolutely awesome! Good job.

That is awesome. I coached an undefeated-in-league-play PeeWee team that had the least PIM in the league, but an entire season penalty free? That's something else.
To put it in perspective, the year that we had the least PIM we had one kid who was over 60PIM over 16 games (that kid was like Matt Cooke without the intent to injure tacked on and more scoring).
That is super impressive for both of you and the rest of your team. Gary, I'm pretty sure you were talking tongue-in-cheek, but that probably does have a LOT to do with coaching.
Congrats to the whole team!

One award I never got while playing hockey; funny thing was I was always the least penalized player... I guess when your the MVP almost every year; its hard to win both haha!
I would have given up an MVP for a Most Sportsmanlike for sure!!
