Rookie card; General Question
Anyone know why certain rookie year cards don't bear the "RC" logo? For example, 2010 was Mike Stanton's official rookie year; however, (for example) his '10 Turkey Red doesn't have a RC logo. Why is that?
Always looking for Verlander, Cabrera, Maybin, Mike Stanton (marlins), and Avisail Garcia.

The reason is the the '10 Turkey Red card is an insert card and not a base card. Insert cards are not considered rookie cards.

Thanks. Topps must have changed how it marks its cards, because I'm pretty sure my '06 Veralander Turkey Red has the RC logo. That's probably what was confusing me. You'd think that Topps wouldn't be too stingy handing out RC logos.

I think that was the year the new RC rule was put into place

Yeah, I think the MLBPA changed the rules around that time (or perhaps after '07) and put stricter parameters in place for when a player could have their first RC. (I think players need to be on the 40 man roster, etc). I didn't think it would affect which rookie year cards they could place the RC logo though.

2006 Turkey Red was a set by itself. Sold in packs. Its a base card so it gets the RC logo. The 2010 Turkey Red is a insert set in regular Topps. Insert cards do not get the RC logo.
I need 2007 & 2008 Topps Sterling Base Cards #/250

Does the RC logo truly apply in recent cards? The 2 Heywards below both have the rc logo, 1 is a base card & the other is chrome. Beckett doesn't designate the chrome as a rc including the refractor au or blue refractor au.
Collecting: Auto's, G/U Jsy/Bat, Refractors, etc.., Harper, Trout, Jeter, Mantle, Rivera, Pujols,Ripken, Griffey Jr, Heyward, Cal Ripken Jr., Posey,
Other Auto's, GU cards will be considered

RE: Rookie card; General Question
Beckett only put the RC designation on the card that belongs to the main set. If the card belongs to the parallel, insert or parallel-insert sets; then it won't have the RC attribute under its description.
I will miss you bbills1999
