The PSA registry set collectors will pay through the nose for high grade vintage. Im also guessing it has a low pop report.

There are a total of 1,434 of these graded by PSA with only 29 receiving a 9-Mint. Additionally, there has only been 1 graded a PSA 10.
Considering the graded pricing BV, they got a bargain.

Thanks all for the replies. Makes sense. If I ever get into selling, I will definitely get my high grade vintage stuff graded. I've seen some 1970 Reggie Jacksons that look pretty dang good go for $20 or less. I don't guess they'd necessarily grade out at a 9, but they looked like they might could. I think I would have tried a couple of those first before shelling out close to $900. But that's just me.
1970 with the grey borders is a tough year for high quality. My set 1970 set is nothing special...but complete nonetheless!
