And it's from a respectable seller, so I highly doubt he would try to "hype" any kind of sale!
Could it be possible that some uneducated fan paid this much, when they could have gotten a 9.5 for half that???

Wow that is crazy! All the grades are 9.5 except centering, but I doubt that would influence this card to go for 10k.

Card didn't really sell. He probably had a friend bid it up. He has it relisted for $1750 now.

You read it wrong. The centering is a 9, corners and edges is a 9.5, and the surface is a 8.5

Does bccg authenticate the card? There are some good prices on bccg 9's

BCCG is a waste of time and money. The grading done by BCCG in no way compares to the standards of BGS, BVG, PSA or SGC. I have seen BCCG 9 and 10 cards that would end up as PSA/BGS 7 or 8 without a doubt.

Yes. If centering were a 9 and all other subgrades a 9.5 then this card would have gotten a BGS 9.5 grade and not a BGS 9.
